The interactive screen in the Logi Dock Flex also doubles as a docking station to connect your laptop to a Flex desk.

Logitech has all the peripherals, except for a monitor and a laptop, to set up a flexible desk in the office. With all this knowledge, it launches Logi Flex Dock, the successor to the Logi Dock and a separate tool for reserving a Flex desk.

The Logi Flex Dock is characterized by being a USB-C docking station with an 8-inch touchscreen. When you book a seat, the screen will indicate that it is your seat in a specific time slot. This way you reduce the risk of someone taking your place.

As soon as you connect your laptop, your work calendar (Outlook, Gmail or other) will greet you. You can even choose a photo of your family, your pet, or any other occasion that you want to feature on your workday.

Need a break? Specify this in the Logi Dock Flex, after which a clear message will appear that you will be back by a certain time. This again prevents someone from taking your seat because it appears to be empty.

All necessary connections

The docking station can supply laptops with up to 100 watts of power via USB-C and supports up to two 4K monitors. That’s all ports: 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort, 2x USB-C, 1x USB-A, RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet, and a Kensington lock that lets you physically secure the Logi Flex Dock to help prevent theft.

Everything is linked to Logitech Sync, the online tool for IT teams to manage Logitech hardware. The tool contains a lot of analytical data about how many flexible rooms are used, who signed up but didn’t show up, and other things.

The Logi Flex Dock costs 849 euros (incl. VAT) and will be available from autumn.

Online reservation tool

Along with the new docking station, Logitech is also launching a new flexible workspace reservation tool. You can use it together with the docking station, but also work in flexible workspaces with QR codes to claim a desk or check its availability. This way you don’t have to place the expensive Logi Flex Dock (everywhere).

The reservation tool works with Logitech Sync, so IT teams can configure everything in one place. For example, they can set up specific workspaces with 21:9 monitors, a more spacious workspace, or an ergonomic keyboard. Reservation periods are also customizable, as is how far in advance you can reserve.

To make everything easy to find, IT can load a map and clearly visualize all workspaces. This feature, along with user data and alerts, is free to use temporarily until July 1, 2024 as part of a beta testing period.

Until then, every IT team can test the reservation tool including premium functions free of charge from today. Limited basic features are always available for free in Logitech Sync.
