Colombia and Zambia will be the first countries to initiate the process of implementing the Ukrainian e-government application “Diya” with the support of the US Agency for International Development.

According to Ukrinform’s own correspondent, USAID agency director Samantha Power said this during her “Action” presentation in the American capital.

“In January of this year, I announced that the United States will support Action-inspired partner countries that seek to accelerate their digital transformation by developing and expanding their e-government capabilities,” Power said.

Noting that this experience will have its own characteristics in different countries, he named the first list of countries that agreed to work on the promotion of an electronic application developed by Ukraine for its citizens.

“I’m excited that USAID will be working with Colombia and Zambia,” said Power.

He noted that the United States is committed to helping partners “find ways to make progress” in digital civil infrastructure.

“We will continue our close partnership with Ukraine, both by further supporting Diya’s development and encouraging partnerships with other countries, so that the Ukrainian leadership can inspire further digital transformations worldwide.”

As reported, a presentation on the Ukrainian e-governance development “Diya” was held in Washington on Tuesday, jointly organized by USAID and the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation. The event was supported by UK Aid, Eurasia Foundation, Visa, Diia.Education and Google.org.
