Google has implemented an interesting novelty in the Bard chatbot, its competitor GPT Chat and the new Bing from Microsoft. AI will now include relevant images in responses. While the user is searching for, say, the best restaurant in the region, Bard will show images of the dishes next to their answer. According to Jack Krawczyk, director of products at Google, the novelty will first be available in English, and will soon appear in other languages.

New from Google Bard was described in the company’s official blog as an important step towards making recommendations more interesting. “Images help you communicate your ideas more effectively. They can bring concepts to life, make stronger recommendations, and improve responses when you ask for visual information.“, the company commented.

Ask the Bard for Images

Even though it’s only available in English, for now the most interesting part of the new feature is that the user can ask Bard to show or not show images. That is, if you have a question about a subject, you can ask the AI ​​for visual information to help you understand. In the tweet below, we see an example of Bard being asked to show images. Here, a user asked a series of questions about the game Diablo IV, asking about character classes, when the game will be released, and whether it will be possible to display images.

In response Bard provided detailed information about each class with specific information as well as a related image.. The novelty significantly improves the user experience and makes the subject easier to understand.
