The accident happened in July 2019 when 48-year-old Richard Tuleki slipped in Burger King bathroom of the aforementioned city, in Broward County, and as a result of the fall “suffered injuries to the lower back, resulting in surgery complicated by perforation of the colon,” according to a lawsuit collected by the newspaper. In court, the coffee chain argued that the plaintiff never contacted the restaurant management to inform them of a problem in the bathroom that needed to be fixed.
But the jury found last week Burger King is responsible for injuries and awarded Tuleki nearly $700,000 in past medical expenses, nearly $1 million in pain and suffering, and $2.77 million in future pain and suffering, as well as $3 million in future disability, the Florida newspaper notes.
The lawsuit, filed by lawyers, alleges that the institution is responsible for “the conditions that led to the fall of Tuletsky or should have knew and contacted them before your accident“.
