Netflix said it has sent emails banning account sharing to customers in 103 countries and regions, including the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Mexico and Brazil.
As mentioned, the Netflix platform is looking for new ways to make money as it faces signs of market saturation.
Last year, Netflix said it would limit account sharing and is testing different approaches in some markets.
The company estimates that more than 100 million users have given their login information to their friends and family.
It is stated that Netflix will offer users the option to pay $8 per month (fee for US users – ed.) for each additional viewer added to their account.
Users can also save a user’s browsing history and recommendations by uploading a person’s profile.
As of the end of March, Netflix has 232.5 million paying subscribers worldwide.
