As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.
Earlier this year, Meta became the first major tech company to announce a second round of mass layoffs.
“Several employees working in teams such as marketing, recruiting, engineering and corporate communications took to LinkedIn (job search platform – ed.) on Wednesday to announce their layoffs,” the statement said.
The company’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, said in March that the majority of the company’s runoff layoffs will occur in three phases over several months, with most expected to be completed by May. He added that some minor phases of cuts may continue after that.
Overall, the cuts took place mostly in non-engineering positions, strengthening the position of those working at writing code at Meta.
About 4,000 employees were laid off during the layoffs in April, Zuckerberg said.
Meta said on Wednesday that the latest cuts will affect around 490 staff, representing around 20% of the company’s Irish workforce, at its international headquarters in Dublin.
In October 2022, Meta company laid off more than 11,000 workers as part of mass layoffs, as reported by Ukrinform.
