EU does not comply with European standards for personal data protection: Specialist

The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) imposed a fine of 1,200 million euros on target (about $1,299 million) for violating the privacy of its users through its Facebook social network.

Dawara explains that the current agreements between Europe and the United States are complicated by a lot of surveillance and intervention that the US government permits on its territory and lack of regulation which exists in terms of privacy.

“The right to data protection is human rights of the 21st century”Dawara says. “We must continue to work and focus on the rights of citizens.”
