A few days ago, AMD introduced a range of Ryzen and Athlon 7020C processors specifically designed for Chrome OS notebooks, and we already have the first model based on this hardware, the convertible ASUS Chromebook CM34 Flip.

Today, Chromebooks are an alternative to Windows and macOS PCs and have accumulated a good range to cover the needs of a large portion of consumers. ASUS has one of the largest catalogs and the model in question is very similar to the CX34 Flip with twelfth generation Intel processors.

The CM34 Flip is a convertible device with a flip design that ASUS calls ErgoLift and this is the one that allows you to rotate the screen up to 360 degrees to use it as laptop, tablet or between modes “tent” for presentations, drawing or taking notes.

This hinge also raises and tilts the keyboard for the most comfortable typing position. It should be noted that its aluminum chassis meets MIL-STD 810H military durability standards.

The rest of the components of this ASUS Chromebook CM34 Flip border at a good level, with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth support, USB 3.2 Gen2 ports and HDMI 2.1 output. It mounts stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon and includes a webcam with privacy protection. Its keyboard is backlit, full-sized with 1.4 mm key travel and, along with the touchpad and palm rest, is protected by a layer of antibacterial protection.

The manufacturer promises up to 13 hours of autonomy. With its ‘Zinc’ color finish and the ability to run Chrome OS, Android and Linux apps, it’s true that this convertible looks very good. We need to know its price. If it’s competitive, it will be a Chromebook to consider.
