Are you one of the few owners of a Microsoft Surface Pro X? The tablet with an ARM chip has always been the fodder for guinea pigs who wanted to test Windows 11 on ARM. In addition to the various restrictions, an annoying extra bug has been added since this week: the webcam no longer works.
When you open the camera app, you’ll see a message that an error has occurred. Error code ‘0xA00F4271
It is noteworthy that the webcam works if you do not set the date to automatic, but manually reset it to a point in time before May 23, 2023. This indicates that Microsoft failed to renew a security certificate in a timely manner and it has now expired.
Video calling has become a daily routine in many professions, making it annoying to rush without video. Microsoft has not yet released a patch to restore the webcam in the Surface Pro X. If you need the webcam, you have to travel back in time.
This problem comes in the middle of Microsoft’s own build developer conference. There, the software giant announced, among other things, that Windows 11 will get an AI assistant called Copilot. Windows Terminal also gets AI help via GitHub Copilot. Finally, Windows 11 now supports standard RAR files and RGB control is centralized.
