Xiaomi introduced new versions of the TV S series in China ahead of the 618 shopping festival. 618 is the second most popular shopping festival in China after Singles’ Day (11/11). The e-commerce festival started in 2010 with the support of leading e-commerce companies such as JD & Alibaba’s Taobao and Tmall and has expanded to offline. The new smart TV models include 55-inch and 85-inch versions of Xiaomi’s TV S.

The Xiaomi TV S series was first announced in March this year and is available in 65-inch and 75-inch screen sizes. The new 55-inch model is currently the cheapest of the bunch, while the 85-inch version offers users an immersive viewing experience while offering a reasonable price tag.

The new Mi TV S series retains the basic parameters of the previous 65/75 inch models, the only difference is the screen size. The entire series comes standard with a native 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The display also has a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and 1.07 billion colors. It also supports 48-144Hz variable refresh rate and MEMC motion compensation.

The smart TV is powered by the MT9653 chipset with the quad-core Cortex A73 architecture. The processor can provide powerful AI computing power for the TV along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

It is also equipped with Wi-Fi 6, NFC remote control, audio support in the far area and two HDMI 2.1 connectors that guarantee console gaming experience.

Prices of Xiaomi TV models S series 55 and 85 inches

Price-wise, the 55-inch Xiaomi TV S model costs 2,399 yuan (US$339), while the 85-inch model costs 5,999 yuan (US$848).
