Neuralink, which develops brain chips belonging to Elon Musk, announced that it has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to conduct the first human tests.

As reported by Ukrinform, the BBC reported it.

The company aims to restore people’s vision and mobility by connecting the brain to computers.

Neuralink hopes to use its microchips to treat conditions such as paralysis and blindness, and to help some people with disabilities use computers and mobile technology.

The chips tested on monkeys were designed to interpret the signals produced in the brain and transmit them to the device via Bluetooth.

It is stated that the company is not planning to recruit participants yet. Musk’s previous ambitions to start testing have failed.

The regulatory body that granted the company the relevant permit did not comment.

As reported by Ukrinform, at the end of April this year, a group of doctors, scientists and researchers from the UK created an algorithm based on artificial intelligence that can accurately detect cancer.
