Lenovo laptops “die” after a forced upgrade

Many laptop owners have seen the “blue screen of death” after the update. The manufacturer has not yet commented on the situation. Also, from April 1, 2022, updating the number GKCN53WW is mandatory (with critical severity), promoted through proprietary software Vantage.

Lenovo Legion 5 and Lenovo Legion 7 owners are mostly seeing a “blue screen of death” after upgrading. Also the lucky ones and those whose laptop is not “dead” also complain of performance issues. Many games started to slow down after the BIOS update. The issue applies to both Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices.

How to solve the problem? So far, Lenovo itself does not recognize it. Therefore, one of the options is to refuse to install the updated BIOS. Or if the update is installed, you should revert to the GKCN50WW version. If you can’t cut through the endless appearances of the “blue screen of death”, you will need to use the BIOS Setup Utility to do so.
