The implementation of the GDPR, the European General Data Protection Regulation, has brought with it more control over the tracking that all the websites we visit are subject to, but also a new inconvenience that in practice and for many users is reduced to nothing. measure value: cookie warning, those hateful ads enable or disable the use of cookies.

Honestly: it’s pointless that someone can enable or disable the use of statistical or tracking cookies when you have to waste time in an irrational way. It’s the same trap you run into when you create an account with a service or install an app, and before using it you have to agree to some terms and indicate that you’ve read a crazy bunch of technical details and gibberish, almost always couched in fuzzy terms unless they’re outright misleading .

Of course, this question is equally complicated for givers and receivers, because although we are all users, those of us on the other side know how difficult it is to get a free product or service. working for advertising.. But it’s true there seems to be no middle ground, which is certainly quite unfortunate. Be that as it may, from a user’s point of view and back to the specific issue, cookie warnings are a pain that no one should be subjected to.

It is true that it depends a lot on the page visited: without having to go further, you can manage our cookie notification in a few seconds, just like many other sites. For many others, however, beatings are warranted only for refusing all requests, and what one usually does when one is wading and doesn’t want to waste time on such misery is to accept what is available to get it out of the way. This is why these extensions are so popular.

We are of course talking about I don’t care about cookies, a web browser extension that lets you get rid of having to deal with the task itself. Once installed, the warnings simply stop appearing when you enter almost any web page… With some very personalized exceptions, but also very rarely. You can install any extension to your browser:

• I don’t care about Chrome cookies
• I don’t care about Firefox cookies

Note that the Chrome extension works for any Chromium derivative with compatibility, such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi… Of course, on the other hand, Brave and Vivaldi integrate this functionality natively, just activate it from the preferences of each one, even if you use another blocker like AdBlock (although you can also add the list to the blocker: here it is).

And also keep in mind that these lists remove the cookie warning from the display, but neither accept nor reject it. In other words, it will depend on the site what it does with its cookies: there are those that keep them visible until a warning is accepted or rejected and do not make a change, and those that understand that if you continue browsing, accept everything in by default.

In closing, it’s worth mentioning that I don’t care about cookies, Avast got it with the suspicion that follows, but at least it works as usual for now (and the Brave and Vivaldi implementations are based on it).
