The death of the Black Sea is inevitable and irreversible – a scientist

Turkish scientist and geologist Osman Bektaş expressed his concerns about the future of the Black Sea in an interview with bTV. According to Bektaş, the increase in temperature caused by climate change affects the structure of the seas, making their extinction inevitable and irreversible.

The Black Sea consists of three layers: a lower layer containing toxic gases, an intermediate layer that acts as an “air conditioner” at a temperature of about eight degrees Celsius, and an upper layer rich in oxygen and marine life. Due to global warming, the middle layer began to thin.

Bektaş warns that in the future, toxic gases from the lower layer will mix with the upper layer and threaten the inhabitants of the seaside. He emphasizes that this situation cannot be changed or reversed.

The views expressed by scientists emphasize that the problem of climate change and its harmful effects on the fragile ecosystems of our planet must be resolved.
