WhatsApp is preparing a change for its video calls: It will allow us to share the mobile screen, so other participants can see it during a call. Some users of the beta version already have this feature.

Screen sharing is almost a staple in video calling apps on PC, and it’s gradually reaching video calls on mobile phones as well. This function will be useful for both. to teach certain things about our mobile phone without resorting to screenshots as for remote assistance.

WaBetaInfo reveals another innovation coming to WhatsApp users: power share our mobile screen during video callinstead of showing what was captured by the mobile camera.

The functionality is already available for some WhatsApp Beta 2.23.11.19 users and you can start a video call and see if it’s your case. we’ll see later new button of a mobile phone with arrow. When pressed, Android will ask us for permission to capture the screen.

After permission is granted, what we see on mobile phone will be sent as our image during a video call, instead of the usual mobile camera shot. The rest of the attendees can see the screen but not interact with it, so showing something (for example a presentation) or getting remote assistance is a useful function so that someone can guide you on how to do something on the mobile phone.

Sharing our screen in a video call, increasingly common in mobile video calling apps. For example, it’s available on Telegram and Google Meet, and very soon on WhatsApp for over 2 billion people.
