At its meeting on May 29, Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada adopted two bills on supporting the production of unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this in Telegram.
“Parliament has passed two important bills supporting our colleagues and the production of drones in Ukraine. Numbers 9275 and 9276. Basically and in general – 284 and 289,” he wrote.
According to Zheleznyak, the bills provide for exemption from VAT and import duties on UAV components (materials, assemblies, equipment assemblies and components) that businesses import during martial law for their own production and repair of UAVs.
He noted that the business importing such components must report on the use of such goods. In case of improper use of such imported goods, the enterprise will have to pay the additional customs duties to which it is exempted and pay a penalty.
As reported, “XX of the Ukrainian Tax Code on Exemption from Value Added Tax on the Import of Goods for the Production and/or Repair of Unmanned Systems” was registered with the Council in the Verkhovna Rada on 5 May 2023.
The document is exempt from VAT transactions on the import of components and materials necessary for the production of unmanned systems during the martial law period in Ukraine.
“Draft Law of the Customs Code of Ukraine on Amending Chapter XXI “Final and Provisional Provisions on the exemption of goods from import duty for the manufacture and / or repair of unmanned systems” (No. 9276) registered in the Verkhovna Rada, 5 May 2023.
The document amends the Customs Law on exemption from VAT on transactions related to the import of components and materials necessary for the production of unmanned systems for the period of martial law in Ukraine.
