MSI is showcasing the new Prestige 16 at Computex. This device has been redesigned for 2023. The result is a large laptop that still weighs a relatively modest 1.5kg. MSI was looking for the EVO badge from Intel’s marketing department and won it, meaning inside you’ll only find the latest Intel Core processors and can’t settle for an AMD alternative.
Nvidia has also given this device its blessing with studio certification. You can configure the laptop with a GeForce RTX 40 series GPU. Perhaps the most beautiful specification is the support of 140 watt power supply via PD3.1 and thus USB Type-C.
If you want something a little more modest, then there is the MSI Commercial 14. This device was designed for companies and can be optionally configured with an NFC reader or a smart card reader for security and additional authentication.
MSI does not reveal many details about this device, except that you are relatively free in the configuration. The manufacturer also admits that the packaging now consists of 90 percent recycled paper and the keyboard is also made of recycled material.
For creative professionals who don’t care about portability, MSI also offers a few desktop solutions. The Pro DP180 is an Nvidia RTX Studio desktop available with 13th Gen Intel processors and a GeForce RTX GPU. The thing should be capable of 8K video and real-time ray tracing, but actual performance will vary depending on configuration. For example, MSI doesn’t share which Nvidia GPU exactly fits in the box. 2.5GbE is present, along with WiFi 6E and the necessary USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports and a MicroSD card reader.
The Pro DP10 13M is a mini variant of the same theme. The computer has a volume of almost 1.1 liters and therefore offers no space for a large graphics card. You’ll have to settle for the integrated graphics capabilities of the 13th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU. Connectivity is comparable to that of its big brother.
MSI has not yet announced pricing or availability for the new devices.
