ASUS impresses with its ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD monitor

ASUS introduced the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD at Computex to expand its line of monitors. And we’re running out of qualifications because it is impressive in size, design and features.

I can’t be objective because I love ultra wide. I decided on this format a while ago to restore a multi-monitor system I was using and it was a complete success. I work (and play) with one the same size as the ASUS in question, and the truth is I’m not changing it. I wish there were more natively supported games and that’s the only thing I miss. For the rest, and if you have room on the table, many benefits. Of course, not everyone likes this extreme format. Try to see them in action or try them on before you buy.

ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD, spectacular

The ROG OLED series is the elite of the ASUS computer monitor catalog, but the presented model goes a step further, starting with its size. 49 inches. Of course, its panel is curved with a radius of 1800R to facilitate the view at the ends and help immersion in such a gigantic diagonal.

The panel used is a QD-OLEDone of the best on the market in picture quality and its 32:9 aspect ratio is added for native resolution 5120 x 1440 pixels. It offers true 10-bit color and covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

It is certified according to the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 standard, supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro synchronization technology and offers a refresh rate 144 Hz, which is not bad for OLED technology and its resolution. Its response time is surprisingly low at 0.03ms, ideal for minimizing blur. The monitor has a special cooling system (passive without fans) that prevents high temperatures of the OLED panel and thus increases its lifespan.

It is used for gaming but also for any other computer use. And includes a SmartKVM Allows you to control two computers with one keyboard and one mouse. It includes DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 input ports, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A ports for connecting peripherals and storage devices, and a USB Type-C port with 90W Power Delivery for charging mobile devices.

The monitor includes an easily accessible joystick for changing its settings, but all parameters can also be customized using the ASUS DisplayWidget Center control application. In addition, it includes other features such as Game Visual, which adds a reticle or FPS counter, and quick switching between game genres with predefined profiles.

ASUS hasn’t mentioned the price, and we’re afraid it won’t be cheap. In turn, the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD will be one of the best monitors to buy for those who bet on ultra-wide with OLED screen.
