About a year and a half ago, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer announced that Xbox games will be available to watch on TV for the next 12 months. The same thing was said again in June 2021, when Microsoft confirmed that the company would release its Smart TV and Xbox streaming device simultaneously.
According to Venture Beat, Microsoft plans to launch an Xbox device that will be ready for cloud gaming streaming in the next 12 months. This was reported by “people familiar with this issue”. The delays are due to supply chain restrictions caused by the situation in Ukraine and quarantines in China.
It is assumed that such a device will resemble an Amazon Fire TV Stick or a compact Roku set-top box. This device allows you to stream movies and other content and access cloud gaming through an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
It’s also reported that Microsoft and Samsung are working closely to develop a streaming program, so Samsung Smart TV owners won’t even need to purchase a dedicated device for this purpose. The app will also be available in the next 12 months. Source
