Lenovo’s ThinkReality VRX VR solution will be available in June. The device must appeal to employees across the country.
Lenovo’s new ThinkReality VRX VR headset will be available in June. The device costs 1,299 euros including VAT. For companies there is a more flexible price based on the format of a tender. The device can also be purchased as part of a service model through TruScale.
Inside the ThinkReality VRX is a Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1 CPU. “Pancake” lenses allow for a thinner profile. Behind each lens is a resolution of 2,280 x 2,280 pixels. The whole offers a viewing angle of 95 degrees.
Broad portfolio
The device is part of Lenovo’s ThinkReality XR portfolio. This includes a software platform in the cloud. The headset works without a computer (on Android 12), but you can also connect it wirelessly or wired to a PC to watch advanced content from there. With color cameras you can see further “through” the headset.
This flexibility makes the headset ideal for a variety of tasks, from employee training in industries like retail to complex 3D design, according to Lenovo. The see-through mode ensures that the ThinkReality VRX is suitable for AR applications.
Lenovo designed the headset specifically for business, pointing to a broad end-to-end ecosystem supporting the headset. The glasses are certainly not Lenovo’s first headset, but the manufacturer has started with a new design with this one.
