The measure will allow over 21 years old carry up to 2 ounces (just over 50 grams) of cannabis flower or “bud” with you in public and keep 2 pounds (nearly a kilogram) at home.

However, most marijuana possession charges are brought at the state level, so the Democratic administration has urged governors across the country to do the same.
The announcement was part of a series of executive actions announced by Biden to try to take steps to decriminalize marijuana, one of his campaign promises, which, however, has been slowed down by a lack of congressional agreements.
