“We continue to work with a number of global partners to provide Ukraine with the sustainable satellite and communications capabilities it needs. The US Department of Defense said in a statement, “Satellite communications is a vital layer in Ukraine’s overall communications network, and the Pentagon has partnered with Starlink for this type of service. He signed a contract,” he said.

For operational security reasons, the Pentagon will not publish the contract value or total number at this time, or additional information about certain deals, contracts, or partners.

The terminals are likely to be purchased under the Ukraine Security Promotion Initiative, which caters to the country’s long-term security needs.

In December, the US Department of Defense announced that it would provide terminal and satellite services to Ukraine while announcing the aid package, but did not confirm that Musk’s company would win the contract.

As Ukrinform reported, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received 42,000 Starlink terminals that provide critical infrastructure with communications.
