GIGABYTE motherboards It is among the favorites for a huge number of users. And there is no need for this, because the technology quickly adapts to the technological innovations proposed by the rest of the industry on various fronts, but also always offers a very wide catalog of proposals to adapt to everyone in this way. different kinds of budgets, from the entry level to the top of the high end.

Although there are cases of all types, most users when choosing a motherboardfocus on technical specifications (and of course its subsequent benefits), size and of course price. Of course, this is the most logical thing in the world, because the third point will determine whether it can be done with it, and the first two will outline the directions of what your future PC will be. However, there is one very important aspect, but few people pay attention, at least initially, to security.

The motherboard, and this is something that GIGABYTE is very aware of, it plays a key role in one of the most critical moments for the security of any system: its startup. And it is so that if an attacker manages to get into it, the security measures implemented in the operating system and the security software it has will be useless. System boot security, which is something the operating system cannot take care of because it has not yet been launched at this point, depends critically on the protection that the technology itself implemented at boot can provide.

Long aware of this responsibility, GIGABYE has released a BIOS update for its motherboards. which improves the verification process, thereby mitigating recently identified risks for some motherboard models. In this regard, the response speed of the manufacturer is more than remarkable, as he was able to publish these updates within hours. According to the company, there are two improvements introduced in this latest version of its software:

  • signature verification: GIGABYTE has strengthened the process of verifying files downloaded from remote servers. This enhanced verification ensures the integrity and legitimacy of the content and thwarts any attempt by attackers to inject malicious code.
  • Restricting privileged access: GIGABYTE has enabled standard cryptographic verification of remote server certificates. This ensures that files are downloaded exclusively from servers with valid and trusted certificates, providing an additional layer of protection.

Board BIOS update for Intel 700/600 and AMD 500/400 series are now available on the manufacturer’s website, while those addressed The Intel 500/400 and AMD 600 series will also be released todaythereby providing complete protection to its users who, yes, must proceed to update the BIOS of their computers.
