Guards from the Vatican Gendarmerie Corps detained the protester. they forced him to get dressed and took him to another unit for interrogation.

Some tourists recorded the event and shared the images on social media such as Twitter and the Welcome to the Favela Telegram channel, which spreads viral content online.

According to Il Messaggero, The man said that he was suffering from depression, sympathizing with the plight of Ukrainian children and showed signs of self-mutilation.

A few weeks ago, another man rammed his car at high speed to bypass access control to the Vatican after agents blocked his path when he tried to convince them he was going to meet Pope Francis.

The next day, he was transferred to a psychiatric hospital for immediate treatment.

“At the end of the interrogation by the (Vatican) judge in the presence of his lawyer and after his condition was confirmed, the driver of the car who had illegally entered the Vatican last night was transferred to the psychiatric ward of Santo Spirito in the Sassia Hospital to receive mandatory medical treatment” , – said then in the Holy See.
