Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ cause banana-shaped photos to blur

Some smartphone owners Galaxy S23 standard and Galaxy S23+ They complained that an area called “banana blur” was appearing in their photos, which is pretty self-explanatory.

The bug discovered in the Galaxy S23 series mobile phones basically consists of one or more banana-shaped areas (or banana, which also doesn’t matter much in this context) in which the image captured by the camera appears blurrier than others. Considering that we are talking about a line of smartphones that directly competes with Apple’s iPhone, this finding will be unpleasant for the affected users.

The failure was reported following a report by a Polish user named s9tralala, who posted photos on the Samsung forums in which you can see what was called “banana blur.” Given this report, it seems that the South Korean giant has decided to take note and work on a patch to fix the bug that luckily this can be solved in software. If this is not the case and the origin is in hardware, the company may be facing a much more complex problem.

While Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ smartphone users are waiting for a fix to arrive, they can take some mitigations: take a photo from a distance of at least 30 centimeters and try to hold the smartphone vertically.

The camera has become one of the most important parts of smartphones, and for many it is even the most important. From what is known so far, the “banana blur” bug has not affected a large number of users, or may not have been noticed by many. The Samsung Galaxy S23 is not known to be affected.

Thanks to the fact that it can be corrected by software, in the end the problem suggests that it will remain just an anecdote, but Samsung could already try harder to polish the experience offered through its devices to the maximum instead of introducing a quantum of bloatware that would make even many Microsoft OEMs blush.
