What is CASAR?

French self-propelled artillery units (ACS) – developed by Nexter, mass-produced since 2007 and designed for:

– destruction of manpower,

– artillery batteries,

– shelters and bunkers,

– providing crossings in minefields and field barriers;

what are the benefits

– 155 mm artillery system with a barrel length of 52 caliber provides a range of 42 km;

– when firing active jet projectiles with an improved aerodynamic ERFB range – almost 50 km;

– ACS is equipped with an automatic guided fire control system “Sigma-30” using the NAVSTAR navigation system;

– control system, radar for measuring initial velocity, built-in ballistic control unit, fully integrated with FCS ATLAS;

– there is an automatic bullet feeding system;

– the chassis uses the Renault Sherpa 10 6 × 6 platform, which allows you to move on roads at speeds up to 100 km / h;

– the cabin of the car is armored.
