Samsung confirms issue with Galaxy S23 line of cameras; fix in development

Some users of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus have noticed a problem with the smartphone’s main camera, due to which one of the target points remains out of focus – even with settings that should not allow this. Although the flaw disappointed the public, the company has not officially commented on the matter, and this has changed with a new announcement from the Polish branch of a major manufacturer.

Galaxy S23: next update will bring portrait mode with 2x zoom

The update for Samsung Galaxy smartphones is expected to arrive at the end of May.

The text of the message made by the company in their community says that they acknowledge the problem. “While testing the capabilities of the S23 or S23 Plus camera, you may have noticed that the moment you get close to the subject of the photo, the area around the subject becomes a little blurry. This is because the S23 S23 and S23 Plus’ wide-angle cameras have a light aperture, which helps when shooting in the dark. However, this also means that selective focusing can actually blur the background of images.”

Subsequently, Samsung said that it was developing a solution to this problem, but the date of its publication is still unknown. For now, all they recommend is moving a little further away from the subject of the photo. According to the company, this can be caused by being 30cm or less away from an object or object. Another workaround they suggest is that you start photographing vertically as they only recognized the error with horizontal positioning.

Samsung skips time

It is worth noting that the first complaints about the focus of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus models began to appear back in March. Considering it’s early June, it took one of the company’s affiliates three months to acknowledge the problem and offer recommendations, in addition to stating that they’re working on a fix that will arrive at some point.

Another point to discuss is that if the update solves the problem, the problem is not with the 50MP camera that comes with the smartphone, but with the software. That is, at least you won’t have to worry about a mobile phone recall in this case.
