George Held, director of digital products at Veon Group, predicts that within 9 years, humanity will stop using smartphones. He believes that these devices will become a principle as they will be replaced by even more advanced technologies.

Held explains that in today’s world, mobile devices are basically essential for user authentication and information transfer. However, he believes that people can be identified using face, fingerprint or voice. As for information transfer, it will be possible to project it onto a wall or mirror using IoT sensors (IoT – Internet of Things).

“So in 9 years, smartphones will become obsolete technology and will be obsolete. We as humans will be able to replace them. For example, a grandmother lost in the city center won’t have to look anywhere. She can simply ask the walls: “How do I get home?” Held, making futuristic assumptions, the wall will show him the route with an arrow,” he predicts.

Held concludes that implantable chips, as well as smartphones, will become an obsolete technology and in a few years their use will become unnecessary.
