Diablo IV performance test with different graphics cards

The new installment of the well-known Blizzard franchise has been available to play early this morning, and the Tom’s Hardware team took advantage of the opportunity to createComplete Diablo IV performance test using different graphics cards and different detail and resolution settings.

What makes this Diablo IV benchmark so interesting is that they used a configuration that, roughly speaking, just slightly above Diablo IV’s requirementsAlthough we must also highlight the fact that they introduced graphics cards of very different generations and series.

At 1080p and with everything at low quality, the GeForce 670 can handle Diablo IV with average 62.4 FPS but records lows of 28 FPS, so we will have idiots while playing. With the Intel Arc A380, it is possible to play with averages of 83.5 FPS and at least 62 FPS, and we will have enough with the GeForce GTX 780, because we will be moving in averages of 93 FPS and at least 72 FPS.

GeForce GTX 670, which slightly exceeds Blizzard’s minimum GeForce GTX 660 requirement, achieving an average of almost 98 FPS at 720p and low quality and a minimum of 73 FPS. Clearly yes, that would be the minimum level to play in a minimally acceptable way, reducing the graphics quality to the max.

in 1080p with medium quality The GeForce GTX 670 only manages an average of 48.6 FPS and a minimum of 18 FPS. from a GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 570 is superbly playable as they both achieve averages of 79.6 and 76.9 FPS and lows of 60 and 66 FPS, respectively. Starting with GeForce RTX 3050 or Radeon RX 5600 XT, we will have enough of this resolution and quality.

Get on ultra high quality it’s a tough blow for the GeForce GTX 970 and Radeon RX 570, which drop to averages of 50.4 and 54.9 FPS, albeit with lows of 38 FPS and 43 FPS, respectively. To play well with this configuration, we need at least one GeForce RTX 3050 or Radeon RX 5600 XTalthough the latter works better.

In the Diablo IV benchmark under 1440p resolution and ultra quality, the GeForce GTX 970 achieves a respectable 30.4 FPS, although it has a minimum of 21 FPS. To play nicely with this setting, we need Radeon RX 7600 or GeForce RTX 2070 so that it doesn’t drop below 60 FPS at any time.

Increasing the resolution to 4K significantly triggers the requirements and we will need to maintain a fully stable 60 FPS Radeon RX 6800 or GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti averages 61.1 FPS but has a minimum of 48 FPS, and the Radeon RX 6700 XT also drops to a minimum of 49 FPS.

If we pull out DLSS 2 in the case of GeForce RTX graphics cards, or FSR 2 in the case of Radeon, Intel Arc and GeForce GTX, both technologies configured in quality modewe see that performance is noticeably improved, and that from the Intel Arc A770 it is already possible to play in 4K with ultra quality and overall fluidity. The GeForce RTX 4090 is so powerful that it doesn’t need to pull DLSS.
