Google is always trying to improve the user experience on its platforms, and the latest update focuses on improving Gmail’s search functionality on mobile devices. This new feature aims to provide a more efficient and simplified search by helping users find the information they need with minimal effort.
Searching in Gmail will become much easier, faster and more convenient
When searching Gmail, machine learning models will now use various factors such as search term, recent emails, and other relevant indicators to display the most relevant results at the top of the list. These results will be presented in a special section that will guarantee users quick access to the most relevant information. The rest of the results will then be sorted by the date they appeared.
This update primarily benefits end users who rely on Gmail for email communication and file management. By prioritizing the most relevant information, this highly requested feature allows users to quickly find specific emails or files, saving valuable time and effort.
Getting started with this feature is easy. There are no special controls for this functionality for administrators. As an end user, all you have to do is go to the search bar in the Gmail app on your mobile device and enter the relevant keywords to get the results that best match your search query. Users can visit the Help Center or explore other Google products and related controls for more information about Gmail’s search and smart features.
This advanced search will be rolled out gradually from June 2, 2023. It will be available to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts. The extended rollout time ensures the feature is available to all users and ensures a smooth transition to the updated search feature.
