Apple and Samsung are fighting hard for smartphone supremacy. The two companies compete in markets around the world, each trying to sell more phones and attract more users. But a recent study seems to have put Apple in an awkward position. According to the latest data, Americans prefer Samsung over Apple.

Apple is no longer the most popular brand in America, new survey shows Samsung number one

A new Axios Harris Poll has revealed that Samsung has overtaken Apple as the most popular brand among Americans. The May 2023 survey asked Americans to rate their favorite brands based on a variety of factors, including quality, value, and customer service. Samsung scored an overall score of 84.6, while Apple scored an overall score of 83.0.

For the first time, Samsung surpassed Apple in the polls. In 2022, Apple was the leading brand, with Samsung in second place. However, it is important to note that this does not mean that Americans prefer Samsung Galaxy phones to iPhones. Samsung offers a wider range of products than Apple.

While the company manufactures everything from smartphones to TVs and smart home appliances, Apple focuses heavily on smartphones and computers. This gives Samsung broader appeal to consumers. For example, someone who is already happy with their Samsung TV is more likely to choose a Samsung smartphone when it’s ready to upgrade.

Of course, smartphones are still an important part of Samsung’s business. The company’s Galaxy phone lineup is one of the most popular phones in the world. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that Samsung’s overall popularity may be related to a wider range of products. Alongside Samsung and Apple, the top 10 brands in the Axios Harris survey included:

  • Patagonia
  • Cost
  • Amazon
  • disney
  • Netflix
  • toyota
  • SAMSUNG
  • sony
  • honda
  • subaru

The survey also revealed that Americans are increasingly turning to foreign brands. For example, seven of the top 10 brands in the survey were foreign-owned.
