Intel has yet to release its next processor platform, codenamed 14th Generation Core Meteoric Lake, but we saw a demonstration of the equipment at Computex 2023. If the other day we saw the MSI Prestige 16 laptop, now we see the first Mini-PC, the ASUS ExpertCenter PN65.
Outwardly, it looks very similar to the PN64 (targeted at businesses and also introduced at the trade show) in the manufacturer’s typical PC design. It has dimensions of 130 x 120 x 58 mm and the big news will be the Intel Core 14Gen processor. It is not known whether Intel will use the advantage to slim down the overwhelming catalog and make the nomenclature easier to understand.
We also don’t know the specific model it will be using, but we do know that it will be from the “P” or “U” series, which are Intel’s notebook series that are used in mini-PCs. The ASUS listing suggests that it will be accompanied by an integrated graphics card. iris xe Intel is expected to improve performance.
We also see an increase in RAM frequency, which will include two SO-DIMM modules 5600 MHz DDR5 with a maximum capacity of 32 GB. Storage will be the usual, with a PCIe 4 SSD up to 2 TB and a free 2.5″ slot for connecting an SSD or SATA hard drive.
Its connectivity is quite good. The compact will be equipped with ports on the back and front and will support the latest wireless standards:
The ASUS ExpertCenter PN65 will be able to pre-install Windows 11 Pro or Home and will also be distributed without an operating system so that the user can install the one they are considering. Note that this Intel platform can also use Linux. No price (we assume economy) or availability that will be provided end of this year or early 2024 when Intel launches the Meteor Lake platform.
