Apple just unveiled the new MacBook Air at the WWDC 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference keynote, which we bring to you live. As speculated, it comes with a big news, 15 inch screen.

A few months ago, Apple celebrated the 15th anniversary of the release of the first Air, a smaller, lighter and cheaper version of the MacBook line. Apple introduced it to Steve Jobs himself and promoted it as the thinnest laptop on the planet. It was very well received by critics and the public, eventually making it one of the best-selling ultraportables.

Apple opted for a 15.3-inch Retina display, the largest ever fitted to an Air Series laptop, and a significant leap in display capability. The screen can display 1 billion colors and has a brightness of 500 nits.

Apple did not skip a generation in terms of hardware engine for the expected M3, but it repeats the well-known Apple M2 in this version with 8 processor cores and 10 graphics cores. And perhaps the most interesting thing comes behind passive cooling, no annoying fans.

In terms of memory and storage, the MacBook Air 15 will be able to equip up to 24GB of RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe hard drives.

Despite the increase in screen size, Apple slimmed down its thickness to 11.5 mm, the thinnest 15-inch laptop on the planet Apple assures.

It has a full “Magic” keyboard, a six-speaker audio system, a MagSafe connector, a fingerprint reader, and a 1080p Facetime webcam. According to Apple, its autonomy is excellent: up to 18 hours of use.

The new MacBook Air 15 will be distributed in four color versionsand as usual with Apple, it will be available immediately next week.

And let’s go to the prices, because they are not bad at all (when we realize that we are talking about Apple). The notebook will be sold at a starting price $1,299. Of course, with the latest version of macOS and a free update for several generations.

Are we betting on another Apple bestseller? The increase in screen size and thus its visualization capacity will undoubtedly please many users. Thinner than the 13-inch model, it’s not much heavier, which will certainly help with your selection.
