ASUS has been around for a long time a society whose image is closely linked to the world of gaming , whose main representatives are the ROG and TUF families. It is therefore not surprising that from time to time the company plans to expand its product catalog not only with new equipment from the product families in which it already operates, but also with a leap into other markets where I have not yet researched.

And this will happen quite soon, as we can deduce from the image published by the company itself on the ASUS ROG Taiwan Facebook page, an image (via Videocardz) that shows us the future. ASUS ROG Strix SQ7 NVMe SSD, NVMe SSD, along with the text “Coming soon !!” at its bottom. With Computex only about three weeks away and ASUS itself announcing its “Boundless” event on May 17, we can expect the ASUS ROG Strix SQ7 to be unveiled in a few weeks.

The text that accompanies the image does not reveal further information, but in the unit itself we can read that we are talking about One terabyte NVMe SSD, format M.2 2280today the most standard format and compatible with the standard PCIe Gen 4 × 4. ASUS ‘debut in this sense might be expected to come with a PCIE Gen 5 performance-focused unit, but personally it seems much more sensible to start with the latest generation today and keep the peak performance range for the second or even third edition.

With this new release, ASUS is approaching the goals of major component manufacturers and is also building its own systems: have a catalog that allows the complete assembly of a PC based only on its components. In this regard, after the launch of the NVMe SSD, ASUS would have only one component left to achieve this goal, its own RAM.

Be that as it may, NVMe SSD memories have changed from a luxury component to virtually every pocket in a few years. And as a person who has already experienced a leap from hard drives to the first SSDs, I’m clear on that there is nothing to envy this evolutionary leap.
