We’ve been waiting for Android Auto 9.7 for a few weeks now, the usual thing at Google is to launch a beta with revisions as soon as the relevant stable is released. But the strategy has changed: instead of releasing Android 9.7 as beta, we have direct stable version. This means it will gradually reach all users starting today; without noticing any visible changes to the UI.
The development of Android Auto is tireless, few Google products have such a high update rate: tool software usually releases at least two versions each month; Added to these are different previews in beta format that anticipate each stable release. Or that was until Android 9.6, when Google changed the way it distributes software by abandoning previous versions. We’ll see if the strategy will continue from now on.
The stable update schedule sticks more or less as follows: Google released a new version two weeks after the previous Android Auto 9.6.. And without any changes to the user at first glance, at least according to our initial tests.
Android Auto 9.7 can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for all users of this vehicle system. Ironically, there are no changes in the official changelog or screen.. There is no reference to new functions in the code either: despite the change in release strategy, everything remains the same in terms of concrete innovations; beyond the always-important bug fixes and stability improvements in software that needs to ensure safety on the road.
Android 9.7 update is available on Google Play store, just download this version from here. There’s always a quick way to install the APK file, in case it’s not active yet:
Since Android Auto 9.7 is directly stable, what makes sense is that it doesn’t present errors in execution.. From what we’ve tested, it’s fluid and stable.
