For the second time, China has successfully launched its newest solid fuel carrier rocket “Lijian-1 Y2” into space and has launched 26 experimental satellites into planned orbits around the Earth.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Xinhua with reference to the Chinese State Administration of Manned Cosmonautics.

The rocket took off from Jiuquan Cosmodrome in northwest China on Wednesday.

As mentioned, the satellites will mainly be used to test Earth remote sensing technologies and commercial information services.

The launch was the second flight of the Lijian-1 family of launch vehicles, currently China’s largest solid-fuel rocket. It has an overall height of 31 meters, a maximum diameter of 2.65 meters and a take-off weight of 135 tons.

“Lijian-1” made its first flight into space last August, launching six satellites into orbit.

According to the Chinese space agency, in 2023, China plans to carry out more than 60 space launches and implement a number of projects, including the fourth phase of the lunar exploration program and the search for new planets.

As Ukrinform reported, the crew of the Chinese manned spacecraft “Shenzhou-15” successfully returned to Earth after a six-month mission at the space station.
