We said there are no two without three, but here is the fourth: Vivialdi 6.1, the fourth Chromium derivative to bring us a new version this month after Chrome, Brave and Microsoft Edge did the same. Unlike the rest, however, Vivaldi brings a few new features to its account.

First, the big new thing in Vivaldi 6.1 is… compatibility with Bing Chat, the one that Microsoft keeps promoting, but which can only be used from its Edge browser. Well, in Vivaldi they did their thing to work around this limitation. As? As they did with Chrome back then, they are now going after Microsoft Edge.

It’s been almost three years since Vivaldi adopted the Chrome user agent to improve compatibility with websites, and also achieved that “the GPU consumes less memory and resources, improves battery life, reduces unexpected shutdowns, and improves system stability.” Now Vivaldi will pretend to be Microsoft Edge when visiting Binggiving you access to the chat.

Another new thing in this version is the improvement of the desktops, a big news of Vivaldi 6.0 and a very interesting feature, although at the moment it is only for those who use the browser on one platform, because the improvement that requested this feature, synchronization between devices, still miss. So in what improvement? Add option to manually change the order of available slots from the tab bar menu.

Another thing that comes with this release, and this one is really cool, even if it’s a small thing that will only interest a certain type of user, is that Vivaldi 6.1 has implemented a new option with copy the links on the tab. So simple, yes, in the style of popular extensions like TabCopy that Vivaldi users can save from now on.

Operation is just as simple: you have the option in the context menu of bookmarks, and if you want to copy multiple links at once, simply select the desired bookmarks. In terms of functionality, let’s just say that it saves you the beating of going to the tab by selecting and copying the URL with the tab (quite a pain when you have to do it with many, and it’s a task that you repeat time after time).

Finally, Vivaldi 6.1 provides tweaks to the appearance of the launch wizard, which you see when the browser is installed and which helps you configure its basic aspects. It got a light facelift for the occasion, nothing extraordinary.

But there is one thing that, although it does not belong to this version, may be of interest to users Vivaldi on iOS, and it’s… obvious: the browser is about to be released on the Apple platform. We’ll tell you when the time comes.
