Security company Barracuda Networks is urging its customers to replace their ESG as soon as possible. This Barracuda mail application has been the target of cyber attacks for months.
Barracuda’s email security gateway application has been the target of cyberattacks for months, it was recently revealed. The security company is now asking users to replace their ESG immediately.
Restored
Barracuda has since been able to close the vulnerability, but otherwise the company continues to urge users to completely replace the system via the ESG interface. If you haven’t already, you should urgently email Barracuda Support.
Barracuda didn’t say why the recovered ESG should necessarily be replaced. A contact person for further information on this could not be reached either.
The zero-day went unnoticed by hackers for months since last October. Of course, for a security company with customers like Samsung, Delta Airlines, and Mitsubishi, that’s not a good thing. Additionally, these attacks were already underway when Barracuda strengthened its email security with Amazon Security Lake.
