Meta employees cannot be accused of doubting the company’s strategy. Spread over two rounds, no fewer than 20,000 employees have received a golden handshake since November 2022. Zuckerberg called an internal meeting to emphasize to employees that despite the layoffs, AI is still the company’s main focus, the CEO said in March.

Meta is also working on a “Metamate” for internal use. It’s a chatbot for employees to ask questions and a productivity tool to automate tasks. Zuckerberg challenged his men to share their best Generative AI ideas.
