Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg announced that he had graduated from school that Friday, ending his participation in the school strikes he attended every Friday for almost five years and which spawned the movement climate International.

This is the last school strike for me,” he wrote on his social media account. Although this Friday was her last school strike, the activist assured that she would continue to protest on Fridays, “even though it’s not technically a school strike.”

Thunberg admitted that she would never have thought that her initiative would lead to anything, and condemned that the world continues to move in the “wrong” direction.

“After daily strikes for three weeks, we were a small group of children. We decided to keep doing this every Friday, and we did. This is how the group Fridays For Future was formed. Suddenly it became a global movement that grew every day, ”the girl recalled.

“In the context of the pandemic, we have had to resort to other forms of protest,” and while Friday protests have since returned to the streets, Thunberg believes “there is still a lot to be done.”
