While EVs still have pit stop delays in racing categories with low or no emission vehicles, Toyota still invests in hydrogen-powered models to compete. After success GR010 Launched last year, the company introduced a hydrogen-powered vehicle. GR H2 racing conceptwhich was developed for such races as 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The actress is also the producer of the Formula 1 series, which will be called One.
The manufacturer points out that the new emission-free model was created specifically for the 24-hour race, which takes place in France, and promises to solve the problems of delaying electric vehicles at gas stops.
despite Toyota already showing new GR H2 racing concept, the car is still under development and was unveiled to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. As indicated Engadgetperhaps the Japanese company will still be able to improve the model before it is ready for use in racing. The portal indicates that this model is the result of the work that the company is doing in hybrid corolla — who has competed in the Super Taikyu series in Japan since 2021 — and in GR010 – used last year at Le Mans and took the first two places on the podium.
The site indicates that despite this release, the new GR H2 racing concept launches at a somewhat turbulent time for the automaker. This is because the company has resisted investment in new electric vehicles for years and has been betting on hybrid and hydrogen models. But the company recently announced that it is shifting its focus to building electric vehicles.
It is possible that Toyota continue to keep your investment in hybrid models by using them in categories where quick refueling is important.
