If you’re a user of both Google Keep and Google Calendar, and you also usually view the reminders you create in your calendar notes, you’re wondering what’s given is over: Google Keep is losing integration with Google Calendar and it is not at all clear why, although the change will certainly irritate many.
We repeat: Google Keep is losing its integration with Google Calendar, or the equivalent, from now on you will no longer be able to see Google Keep reminders in Google Calendarwhich is quite a task for those who rely on the Internet giant’s ecosystem of productivity apps, as they reduce the functionality and practicality of the calendar as the nerve center of the organization.
Specifically: until recently, Google Calendar collected all upcoming meetings and backlogs in one place. This includes the events of the calendar itself, but also Google Tasks, Google Assistant reminders and Google Keep reminders, which in turn have integrated in line with the rest. However, there are changes on the horizon that are worth the redundancy to change everything.
So Google Tasks unites reminders with tasks, or in other words, an independent reminder is the end: it will all be homework, are created from Google Tasks or Google Assistant and in this case will appear in Google Calendar as always. However, the same will not happen with Google Keep. At least for now, though Google hasn’t given any indication that it wants to go there.
Google Keep will still have reminders, but They can only be viewed from the application itself in its corresponding section (“reminders”, you can’t miss it): there the notes are sorted by the upcoming date, in the style of task applications. It’s a shame that the circle doesn’t close as it should, it doesn’t expand and limit integration. We’ll see if Google reconsiders.
Of course, Google Keep reminder notifications will continue to work as usual, both on PC and mobile. In the same way, Google Keep will retain the integration with the sidebar of Gmail, Calendar, Documents… It will not be touched for now.
