The Chang’e-6 mission will carry scientific instruments developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the French National Space Research Center (CNES).

In particular, ESA’s negative ion analyzer, which can be used for basic planetary science research, and the French radon gas detector, which measures the content and decay products of radon on the Moon’s surface to study the Moon’s physical properties. moon land.

According to China’s lunar exploration program, the Chang’e-6 mission is scheduled to launch in 2024 to complete the mission to return samples from the far side of the moon. If the mission is successful, humans will have sampled from the other side of the moon for the first time.

Launched in 2020, Chang’e-5 was China’s last mission to the moon. Its probe sent a total of 1,731 grams of lunar soil to our planet from the moon’s near and visible side.
