Google recently announced its immersive look, a novelty whose distribution in Spain began today. The company officially Google Maps’ most relevant news so far this year, under the name Immersive View. Users located in Spain will not be able to start enjoying this feature only when they travel to cities around the world: this includes several iconic regions of the country.

Planning trips on another level


The idea with Google Maps and its immersive view is mainly for planning trips. AI is responsible for combining millions of images. create a multidimensional scene. This scene allows us to get to know squares, monuments and buildings in greater depth beyond what Street View already offers.

There are many places in Spain that will begin to align with this function, such as the Mosque of Córdoba, the Plaza de España in Madrid, the Prado National Museum, the Sagrada Familia or the Palau de la Música Catalana.

In addition to being able to “visit” these places in three dimensions, interface dedicated to your own time and number of people expected at different times of the day. The visit will be limited to cases where only compatible data is available regarding the visibility of the building itself. These compliant cafeterias, restaurants and facilities are visible from the inside so we are clear about whether we want to book or not.

This isn’t the only big innovation coming to Google Maps. Coming as of this month of June visible indicators. These have the purpose that we can follow our routes from the lock screen and in the easiest way possible. It’s designed for routes we already know, where we don’t need maps, we just need indications of when and where to turn. We can manually activate this view both on the lock screen and in the route overview.

Both innovations will reach all iOS and Android phones that have been updated to the latest version of Google Maps starting this month. As the icing on the cake, Google for PC will add a new “end” menu where you can keep track of all the sites you want to visit. This function brings together the addresses we refer to in a list on the side of the screen.
