Tech consultant Accenture will hire 40,000 new employees in the coming months. The company wants to significantly strengthen its workforce with AI talent.

Just months after Accenture made 19,000 layoffs worldwide, mostly in human resources and accounting, the technology consultant announces plans to double its tech headcount. The company will invest $3 billion in the coming years to attract the necessary AI talent. Accenture, for example, would employ 80,000 people in data and AI, which is nearly a tenth of the global workforce.

Accenture is convinced that artificial intelligence can also prove its worth in consulting. According to CEO Julie Sweet, investment is necessary for a strong AI foundation by investing now and being better positioned compared to others.
