WhatsApp seems willing to step on the gas to the maximum in order not to give even the slightest opportunity to its rivals, starting with the popular Telegram as well. Yesterday we heard about the introduction of messages in video format within sixty seconds, now we find that those responsible for the instant messaging service are introducing support for multiple accounts within a single installation of the application.

In the last update beta branch of the Android app, specifically version 2.23.13.5 aimed at businessesthose responsible for WhatsApp have been found to be working on run multiple accounts in one instance of the application. The origin of the discovery leaves up in the air whether the feature will eventually reach all users of the service or just those of the business version, but given the way the competition is doing, it would be logical to think that it will reach everyone, even if it is staggered .

In WaBetaInfo, the media that discovered the feature of multiple accounts in the same installation of WhatsApp through the beta branch of the company version of the application, they shared a screenshot showing the presence of two accounts, one with the name of the medium itself and another with the initials of words attached to it.

WaBetaInfo explains that there will be a menu that allows users to choose which account they want to log in with. When you first set up another account, it will be stored on the device until the user decides to log out, so it’s possible to switch between accounts at will.

Among the features derived from the tested WaBetaInfo build, users will be able to manage personal conversations, work discussions and other social interactions without having to install multiple apps. Such a separation should guarantee privacy and enable efficient notification management. And although it is not yet confirmed, everything indicates that the door will be opened for the mentioned multi-account support to be also multi-device, which was already implemented in the mass-oriented version of WhatsApp.

As we’ve said, since multiple account support has been introduced in the beta branch of the business-focused app, it’s up in the air when it will be rolled out globally, and if it ever will. Whatever the final outcome, it’s undeniable that WhatsApp isn’t comfortable with its leadership, and that it will continue to roll out new features that add more value to the service.
