Spanish startup PLD Space canceled the test launch of its Miura-1 reusable launch vehicle at the last minute early on Saturday, June 17.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.

The launch at Huelva, southwest Spain, was aborted after the countdown reached zero, and flames and smoke were seen next to the rocket on the launch pad.

The reason for the decision to cancel the Miura-1 launch is currently unknown, but the launch vehicle itself remained intact.

The Miura-1 launch vehicle, named after a type of bull from PLD Space, is said to have a three-story building height and a payload of 100 kg. It can also be used to conduct experiments in a zero gravity environment.

If successfully launched, the rocket’s suborbital mission will be the first of its kind in Western Europe.

A previous attempt for a suborbital test flight in late May was delayed due to strong winds.

As reported by Ukrinform, China conducted another launch of the Long March-2D launch vehicle, which launched 41 satellites into Earth orbit and set a national record for the number of vehicles sent into space by a launch vehicle.
