Apple, Google and Microsoft have agreed to implement passwordless authorization into their platforms and services next year. The search giant showed and told how it will work in Chrome and on Android smartphones.

Google said that Android-smartphone will store the access keys required for authorization in Google Chrome. Instead of entering a password to enter a website or app, all you need to do is unlock your phone. Access keys are synchronized with the cloud through a Google account and transferred to a new smartphone when the old one is changed or lost.

According to the company, the access key is much more secure than a regular password, since it is based on cryptography and is displayed in the user’s account only when the smartphone is unlocked. On personal computers, the first login requires the phone to be in close proximity.

Undergoes changes and authorization in a Google account. For example, instead of a password, you can use the unlock code of the previous device. Additionally, a phone number or other information owned by the user may be required.

Passwordless authorization will be available to owners of smartphones running Android 9 or a newer OS version.
