Russian video hosting company rutube continues its recovery efforts after the cyber attack on 9 May.

This was reported on the Telegram channel rutube, according to Ukrinform reports.

“The process of restoring file system segments of remote environments and databases on some servers is in progress,” the statement said.

The company claims that the resource was allegedly attacked by APT. But it is claimed that “source code is available”.

The day before, a source close to the hosting administration told The Village that the attack began at around 5 am on 9 May. The hackers managed to “completely remove the site code”, after which the video service “cannot be restored”. According to the source, the attack was possible due to the leaking of access codes from the site. It was stated that the content was not affected.

Rutube is considered an alternative to the American video hosting Youtube used by Russian state-owned companies and media.

On the eve of Victory Day, hackers also hacked the program of a number of pay-TV operators on Russian television. On the night of May 9, instead of the names of the programs, there was the text “You have the blood of thousands of Ukrainians and hundreds of their murdered children. TV and authorities are lying. No to war”. It was stated that MTS TV, NTV-Plus, Rostelecom and Wink were hacked. The inscription also appeared in the owners of Smart TVs and in the description of the programs of the service “Yandex. TV show”.

On February 24, 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine for no reason and began mass bombing of peaceful towns and villages. Russian troops carried out mass terror in the temporarily occupied territory. The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense Forces stubbornly resist the Russian invaders and inflict heavy losses on them. The Ukrainian people stood up to fight the aggressor. The European Union has imposed economic and personal sanctions on the Russian Federation in an attempt to limit the Kremlin’s “war machine”.
