The AI ​​editing tool is text-based. This feature allows you to edit videos by detecting and removing long pauses or unwanted insertions like “uh”.

The largest target group for the AI ​​tools consists of people with absolute basic knowledge of video. Employees or executives who don’t have the time or skills to edit videos themselves. The goal is for video to become more efficient for everyone.

The new functions can be used to create quick highlight reels, clips for online events or meetings, and quote clips for marketing purposes.

It’s not the first time the platform has introduced AI. In 2019, Magisto was acquired, an American company that develops artificial intelligence for video editing. Vimeo’s authoring tool is based on Magisto’s structure.

After these new features, Vimeo has already announced that it will continue to rely on AI for video editing.
